Wubble Ball

The amazing Wubble Bubble Ball looks like a bubble but plays like a ball!

I first saw the Wubble Ball over the summer at a blogging event.  It was love at first sight.  This thing seemed to defy logic.  It looked like one thing but felt and acted like a completely different thing.  I knew right away that my kids would love it.

When I had the opportunity to try one out for myself, I jumped at the chance.  When my kids saw the box they were super excited to try it out.  But honestly, I think I was more excited to get the chance to play with it than they were!

The ball comes with a pump that requires 4 D batteries.  If you don’t normally stock those, be sure to pick them up when you purchase your Wubble Ball.  Then comes the tricky part of inflating it.  While the directions are pretty straight forward, I had trouble inserting the pump at first.  It started to inflate and then stopped.  I realized I didn’t have the pump inserted far enough and then once I fixed that the ball inflated very quickly.  It comes with a measuring guide to help keep you from over inflating it.

Once it is inflated, you are ready to go! My kids grabbed the ball and decided to head outside with it.  They tossed it, bounced it, kicked it…all the things you’d do with a normal ball and they loved it.  It is super light!  Take a look….

When the kiddos get tired of playing outside, I’m sure they will be able to come up with new ways to use it.  I caught this kiddo using it as a foot rest.

While the ball can certainly be played with, it is not indestructible.  Keep it away from tree branches and sharp items or it will puncture.  Ours must have developed a hole because it deflated on us :/ The good thing about the Wubble Ball though is that if you send them a portion of your punctured ball along with a nominal fee, they will send you a brand new one.

The bottom line is this: it can be a little tricky to get it blown up and it is certainly not indestructible BUT it is different and it is fun.  It encourage the kids to be active for a while and the bonus is, they even played together! It was chosen by Target as a 2014 Top Toy for the Holiday Season and is a Family Fun Toy of the Year Award Winner. We all enjoyed playing with the ball and I think a lot of kids will love finding it in their stocking this holiday season.   If Santa needs a little help locating one, they are available at Target, Toys R Us, and online at Wubble Ball.

Disclosure: I received a Wubble Ball for purpose of review.  All opinions are my own.
