About the BAT Cave

How did the BAT Cave come to be?
I started this blog on a whim.  Yes, a whim. However, it has become a place where I share bits and pieces of everything going on in my life.

How did the BAT Cave get it's name?
My initials are BAT (or at least my maiden initials were!).  The BAT Cave is my home and my life.

More about B:
My name is Beth.  When jotting down a note or an email to someone I frequently sign it with just a B.  That is how I became known as B here in the blogosphere.

When I was growing up I always wanted to be a teacher or a nurse.  I settled on nursing and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1997.  It was at my first job as a nurse where I met my husband.  We married in 1999 and went on to produce three beautiful children (which I had in a 3 year time span!).

I chose to trade in my nursing clogs for slippers and the adult diapers for the infant variety when I had my first son.  After my third child, I returned to work on a per diem basis.  Nursing is a hard career to return to if you hang your stethoscope up for too long so I always try to keep at it in some way, shape or form.

My kids keep me insanely busy.  When I'm not chauffeuring them around town, you can frequently find me running a scout meeting, throwing a class party or organizing a fundraiser.

I don't believe too much in the cooking and cleaning side of keeping house.  I believe a house should look lived in and not like a museum.  I'm always on the search for products to help make my life easier in these departments and I'm always on the hunt for the laundry fairy and any other fairy that will take care of my domestic life!

In my down time, I love to read, scrapbook and watch trashy TV.  You can usually find me unwinding at night on the couch with reality TV on and my laptop snug on my lap.
