Jenkinson’s Boardwalk: Giveaway!

Living at the Jersey Shore comes with a few perks such as close access to the beaches and boardwalks.  One of our favorite places to spend summer days and evenings is along the Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in Point Pleasant.  It is the perfect place for families to have fun! Here are our top five reasons for loving Jenkinson’s.

1.  The Beach:

It’s summer! The Jersey Shore wouldn’t be the Jersey Shore without a day on the beach! Grab your towel and your sunscreen and find your spot in the sand.  Life guards on duty from 9:30-5:30 and daily badges can be purchased right at the gate.  If you don’t feel like hauling all your gear, beach chairs and umbrellas are even available for rent.  Now get working on that tan!

2.  The Aquarium

One thing Jenkinson’s boardwalk has that other boardwalks don’t have is the aquarium.  My kids have always loved it here and we visit each summer.  The penguins and the sea lions are always a hit and if you time it right, you can even watch a feeding.  Be sure to check out the calendar for feeding schedules, events, and programs because they add to the experience.

3.  The Rides

The boardwalk just wouldn’t be the boardwalk without the rides! The best thing about the rides here are, there is something appropriate for every thrill level.  There are nice calm rides for the little ones who are experiencing the boardwalk for the first time all the way up to the super thrill rides that the older kids love. This summer Kite Flyer is the new ride and I know my kids can’t wait to get on it.  If you are looking to extend the fun while preserving the budget, take a note of the wristband days on Tuesdays from noon-6pm and wristband nights on Fridays from 5pm-11pm.  The wristbands allow you to enjoy the rides for one low price!

4.  The Free Entertainment

Let’s be honest.  Summer isn’t cheap and after entertaining the kids while off from school, our wallets begin to look a little empty.  Or quite empty.  That is why I absolutely love that you can find free family entertainment.  Each Monday on the South Beach Stage (across from the rides), enjoy Kiddie Beach Shows by family friendly entertainers.  On Friday nights pull up a blanket for Movies on the Beach, where family friendly movies can be enjoyed.  Don’t forget the fireworks each Thursday!

5. The Additional Fun Factor:

As if I haven’t given you enough reasons to want to head to Jenkinson’s Boardwalk this summer, there is still more fun to be had.  The games, the arcades, and our family favorite, miniature golf all await! There are plenty of sweets and eats along the boardwalk as well.  Who can resist a big slice of boardwalk pizza?

The Giveaway:

Now for the best part.  I’ve given you the reasons my family loves Jenkinson’s and now it is YOUR turn to enjoy the fun! I am giving away 1 weekday voucher which is good for up to 5 people.  This voucher gives you admission to the beach, bath house, miniature golf, fun house, and amusement park.  Giveaway closes July 2, 2014 at 9am.

Wow. I was just thinking about this today. We, too love the boardwalk for all the reasons you mentioned. But, even more special is that a trip to the boardwalk has become our Mother’s Day tradition. What more could I ask for in a perfect day with my family. We always start out in the arcade, then spend time playing in the sand and walking the beach. We all get our ice cream and I get my apple to go. Then we ride the rides (moms ride free!) We round out the day with some food and drinks. Honestly-perfection.

  9. Allison says:

My favorite thing to do at the boardwalk is people watch and get a really cold, fresh lemonade.

  10. My favorite thing to do on the boardwalk is go to Kohr Brothers and get a orange creamsicle cone with my kids. Once we are done with our ice cream I love to take them on the rides and take tons and tons of photos. There is nothing like capturing those special memories on the boards

  11. Watch my kids smiling faces while they enjoy the rides….
