Sunday was a beautiful day here at the Jersey Shore. We decided to take a ride over the bridge to the barrier island, someplace we haven't ventured since the hurricane that came through nearly three months ago.
From a distance everything looks normal.
And then you begin to notice things out of the ordinary.
What is that you ask? It is a slot machine from one of the boardwalk arcades that washed up on the beach.
The broken and tattered pier looks so sad.
My son's first "big boy" roller coaster now sits in the ocean.

Whoa that is crazy!
ReplyDeleteYes it is. And this is 3 months after the fact.
DeleteWow, thanks for sharing this. Such an impact, I hope that the full recovery is swift. We all love our Jersey shore!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid to drive over to my home town. I think I may lose it when I don't see the shack on my way over the bridge.
ReplyDeleteI know, I can't imagine the shack not welcoming us to LBI.
DeleteWow. :(
ReplyDeleteAmazing photos. Thinking positively! They will have AC up and running in no time! :-)
ReplyDeleteAC is up and running! They weren't impacted as bad as other areas. These pictures are from Seaside Heights and Lavallette.
DeleteOh My....this makes me so sad. A reminder of how much was lost and changed and how much help the Jersey Shore still needs:(
ReplyDeleteThe camera crews went home and I don't think people realize how bad it still is and how many people are still displaced.
DeleteAbsolutely amazing ... the skyline does look beautiful though ... mother nature at her best :) Saying hi through the Wordless Weds ... yes, I'm a day late ... stop by if you have the time!
ReplyDeleteI'm always a day late and a dollar short so you've come to the right place!
