From a Distance

Sunday was a beautiful day here at the Jersey Shore.  We decided to take a ride over the bridge to the barrier island, someplace we haven't ventured since the hurricane that came through nearly three months ago.

From a distance everything looks normal.

And then you begin to notice things out of the ordinary.

What is that you ask?  It is a slot machine from one of the boardwalk arcades that washed up on the beach.

The broken and tattered pier looks so sad.

My son's first "big boy" roller coaster now sits in the ocean.

  3. I'm afraid to drive over to my home town. I think I may lose it when I don't see the shack on my way over the bridge.

    1. I know, I can't imagine the shack not welcoming us to LBI.

    1. AC is up and running! They weren't impacted as bad as other areas. These pictures are from Seaside Heights and Lavallette.

  5. Oh My....this makes me so sad. A reminder of how much was lost and changed and how much help the Jersey Shore still needs:(

    1. The camera crews went home and I don't think people realize how bad it still is and how many people are still displaced.
