The BIG Concert: Celebrating 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouts

As a girl, I loved being a Girl Scout.  We'd have our meetings in the cafeteria after school and do crafts, sing songs, and take fun trips.  Now as adult, I am enjoying being a Girl Scout Leader of 14 amazing girls.  They are full of energy, enjoy learning new things, and most of all, enjoy being with their friends.  It is with great pride that I help spread the word of Girl Scouts 100th Anniversary!

On Saturday, June 23, 2012, The Girl Scout Councils of New Jersey are celebrating their 100th Anniversary with a one of a kind event: The BIG Concert.  Join them for a day-long event at Liberty State Park from 1pm-10pm.  There will be activities throughout the day incluiding cupcake decorating classes, a tech pavilion, bounce houses, sports clinics and more.  There will be day-time performances from local acts and "The X Factor" Finalist, Rachael Crow.

As if that didn't sound like enough fun, Sara Bareilles and Joe Jonas will take the main stage and headline the BIG Concert under the stars.  The night will conclude with a fireworks display over the Hudson River.

This event is open to families and fans.  For more information and tickets be sure to check out The BIG Concert.  You can also follow them on Facebook.

Help a Mom Stay Sane

My life has been running at an incredibly frantic pace for months now.  I've been looking forward to school coming to an end and the slower pace of summer.  We won't have to worry how to get 3 kids to 3 different parts of town all at the same time.  I won't have so many meetings to attend.  I don't have any scout functions or class parties to plan.  We can kick back and finally relax.

Then this morning happened.  Listening to my three children bicker and whine all morning made me remember why I love the school year.  For nine blissful months of the year, someone else entertains my children for 6+ hours each and every day.  Word on the street is, their teachers actually like my kids.  I'm wondering if any of their teachers would like a babysitting job for the summer.

So tell me, what do you do to stay sane all summer? I've only got a few days left to figure it out.

Madagascar 3 Coming to Theaters

In order to gear up for the release of Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted on June 8, we had a viewing party of Madagascar 1 and 2.  For any good party you need some yummy snacks.  So we

For your own Madagascar fun be sure to get your own printables and stop by our friends at Claritin for Madagascar activity guides.

Disclosure: As a member of the Children's Claritin Mom Crew I was provided with a Madagascar viewing kit and Claritin samples for my family and to share with friends
