The Death of a Tree

What happens when you have a winter full of snow storms?

The trees protest.  They moan and groan and begin to break.

And when the whole top of a very large tree snaps?
It needs to come down.

This is how we spent our weekend.

And along with that beautiful tree goes a lot of our shade.  However, the kids see the potential for a bigger wiffle ball field!

  1. Way to go kids for finding that silver lining!

Still, so sad to see a great tree go!

  2. The snow can be beautiful but it stinks that you had to loose a awesome tree because of it. But on a positive note.....kids always see the bright side, which makes the loss easier!

  3. All is good in their world if it means a bigger ball field!

We had lots of trees taken down last year after the massive ice storm.

  4. I hate that! We just got a BIG spring storm, and the heavy wet snow killed a LOT of new plants and trees that were starting to grow!
